The Cosmetics and Household Chemicals Registration Division is one of the Divisions under the Drugs Department, and it is responsible for protecting and promoting human public health by ensuring that:
1.    Cosmetics;
2.    Public Health Laboratory Chemicals;
3.    Vector Control Products; 
4.    Antiseptic and Disinfectants for Public Health;
5.    Household Cleaning Chemicals;
are registered and approved for use in Rwanda by being granted a Marketing Authorization before being placed on the Rwandan market. The Division ensures that the above products are safe and effective for their intended use and they meet established quality standards. It also actively collaborates with other functions in Rwanda FDA for better conduct of cosmetics and household chemicals assessment and registration. In addition, the Division is in charge of assessing applications for variations, renewals, and other post-market authorization amendments to the registered cosmetics and household chemical products and making recommendations for regulatory action.
